Sarah Parsons is an associate attorney whose area of practice focuses on Family law and domestic relations matters. Sarah’s proven litigation abilities have been a tremendous asset to the firm’s family practice.
Sarah Parsons comes to Henrickson & Sereebutra after spending three years as an assistant public defender in the Paulding County Public Defender’s Office. She was counsel for cases ranging from traffic citations to murder. As a public defender, she earned full acquittals in two life-sentence felony cases. Sarah successfully argued sentence and bond modifications, suppression of evidence, demand for probable cause, suppression of evidence, and other motions.
While in the public defender’s office, she also served as the defense attorney for the Mental Health Accountability Court in Paulding County. Accountability Court was created in 2018 to provide intensive supervision to individuals charged with felony offenses stemming from mental health symptoms. The program uses a problem-solving court model that combines accountability and treatment in lieu of incarceration.
Sarah also brings prosecutorial experience to our firm from her time in the Paulding County District Attorney’s Office under the Georgia Graduate Practice Act. She negotiated plea deals with defense counselors and met with victims and witnesses in preparations for trial and plea negotiations. She sat first chair for two misdemeanor jury trials and sat second chair for a serious felony jury trial.
